1. Definition of EMI Course Recognition

(1) All professional subjects taught in English during this semester will automatically be recognized as EMI courses and are eligible to apply for bonus items under the Faculty Advancement Incentive Program.

(2) English-taught courses related to Technical English (EEB422, EI112, EI111, EI209, EI210, EEC601, EEC602) are classified as ESP/EAP courses and are not included in this category.

(3) Teachers wishing to apply for the following related items must attend at least two EMI-related seminars or workshops during the academic year.

  • This is for teachers who have completed formal EMI training courses such as Oxford, Cambridge, etc.

  • English courses focused on language learning rather than specialized subject content.

3. Application for Hourly Pay Bonus for English-Taught Courses

  • For teachers who, due to limitations on the number of English-taught courses eligible for bonuses, are unable to receive the school's English bonus payment.
  • Student F questionnaire evaluation score of 4.0 or above.
  • Hourly rate for each position * number of course hours * 18 weeks * 0.3
EMI Online Course
1.EMI Online Course Incentive Grant 
  • Faculty members of the College who offer EMI online English-taught courses are eligible to apply for this incentive, provided that they submit the complete course video recordings.
  • Incentive amount: NT$60,000 per course.
  • An additional reimbursement of up to NT$20,000 is available for student assistants involved in course production, based on actual expenses.
Teaching Assistant Applications

1. Teaching Assistant for EMI/ESP/EAP Courses

  • For undergraduate EMI courses with 30 or more students enrolled, and graduate (Master’s or PhD) courses with 10 or more students enrolled.
  • Each course may apply for one additional teaching assistant.
  • 1,500 per month for 4 months
