【轉知】國立臺灣科技大學-「ESP專業英文師資增能認證」ESP Professional English Teacher Certification

主旨：檢送本校EMI教學資源中心與國立臺北科技大學雙語中心共同辦理「ESP專業英文師資增能認證」相關資訊，敬邀貴校所屬ESP/EMI教師踴躍報名參訊，請查照。

說明：

一、為協助各校銜接EMI課程，學校應對學生提供充分培訓與支持，並建議於大一起開設ESP(English for SpecialPurposes，專業領域英文)課程，以結合校內英語教學單位與各學院需求，奠定學生良好的專業領域語言基礎，接軌EMI課程。

二、國立臺灣科技大學EMI教學資源中心特與國立臺北科技大學合作辦理「ESP專業英文師資增能認證」課程，導入國際學術資源導入與共同及專業英文課程建構經驗實踐分享，銜接具各校特色之全英語授課(EMI)教學方針，從ESP與EMI面向雙軌並進，全面推動雙語教學。相關報名資訊如下：

(一)課程時間：113年12月12日~113年12月28日，共計24小時。

(二)辦理方式：混成式課程，含線上及實體。

(三)辦理地點：Google Meet及國立臺北科技大學(實體成果分享)。

(四)課程講師：國立臺北科技大學應用英文系及美國賓州州立大學應用語言系教授。

(五)參訓對象：各大專校院專任(案)英語教師或EMI教師。

(七)報名日期：即日起開放報名至12/2(一)止，錄取名單將於12/5(四)公告。

Subject: Please find attached information regarding the "ESP Professional English Teacher Certification" jointly organized by our university's EMI Teaching Resources Center and the Bilingual Center of National Taipei University of Technology. We kindly invite your ESP/EMI faculty members to actively register and participate. Please take note.

Description:

  1. To assist universities in implementing EMI courses, institutions are advised to provide comprehensive training and support for students. It is recommended to offer ESP (English for Specific Purposes) courses starting in the first year of university. These courses should align with the needs of various academic departments and the university’s English teaching units, ensuring students build a strong language foundation for their respective fields and connect to EMI courses.

  2. The EMI Teaching Resources Center at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the Bilingual Center of National Taipei University of Technology, is organizing the "ESP Professional English Teacher Certification" program. The course will incorporate international academic resources and share practical experiences in constructing professional English courses. The program bridges the university’s EMI teaching strategies and promotes bilingual education through both ESP and EMI approaches. Relevant registration information is as follows:

    • Course Duration: December 12, 2024 to December 28, 2024, a total of 24 hours.
    • Mode of Delivery: Blended course, including online and in-person components.
    • Location: Google Meet (online) and National Taipei University of Technology (in-person final presentation).
    • Instructors: Faculty from the Department of Applied English at National Taipei University of Technology and the Department of Applied Linguistics at Penn State University.
    • Target Audience: Full-time (or contract) English instructors or EMI instructors from universities and colleges.

  3. We kindly encourage your ESP and EMI faculty to actively participate, and we ask that you approve leave for those attending and offer appropriate incentives according to your institution’s reward policies.

  4. In line with the 2030 Bilingual Nation Policy, the Ministry of Education has entrusted National Taiwan University of Science and Technology to establish the EMI Teaching Resources Center starting in 2024. The center provides EMI-related services to faculty and students across universities nationwide.
