Clause 1.  The College of Electrical and Communication Engineering (hereafter as the College) has created this set of details to encourage undergraduate and master's students in this College to increase their participation in academic research during their study at YZU and publish their findings in academic journals so that the academic status and reputation of this College will be promoted.

Clause 2.  The conditions for rewards are as follows:

  1. In order to maintain academic standards, the essays must be published in SCI-Expanded journals.
  2. The articles should have been completed in the departments or programs under this College and be limited to the publications with the name of this University. The application must be submitted within two years after the paper is accepted or published.

Clause 3.  The application of this reward is limited to the first month after the semester starts. When the applications are submitted, a copy of the published paper should be attached (its first page). For those that have been accepted, a copy of the first page and the acceptance letter should be submitted as well. Those who have been reviewed and approved will receive letters of award (those who have been accepted for publication can submit their applications first and the letters of award will be issued when their works are published).

Clause 4.  The award criteria are as follows.

  1. Those whose long essays are entitled to NT$2,000 per paper and the short essays will be awarded with NT$1,000.
  2. Each article/essay will be rewarded once. If more than one student’s name is on the published essay, the monetary reward will be distributed to the students by their supervisor.
  3. All the students whose names are listed in the article published will receive a letter of award from the College as encouragement.
  4. Each paper will be awarded a certificate; monetary incentives are limited to one per person per semester.
  5. The allocation of monetary rewards may vary depending on the budget available each year. If there is no budget in a certain year, the encouragement format will be limited to a letter of award rather than monetary rewards.
  6. If the awardee violates academic ethics, the certificate and monetary reward shall be reclaimed.

Clause 5.   There is no limit regarding how many essays that a student can be rewarded for publication during his/her study at YZU.

Clause 6.  This set of details is ratified by the collegial meeting before implementation. All amendments/revisions require the same procedures.
