Article I This Criteria is formulated in accordance with the provisions of Regulations for Teachers’ Evaluation and Rewards and Implementation Regulations for Teachers’ Annual Performance Award of the University.
Article II The evaluation of the research section is divided into three categories: hosting projects, scholarly publications, and awards.
Article III The evaluation of the hosting project is divided into hosting academic research projects of National Science and Technology Council (NSTC), Taiwan ICDF projects, and industry-academia cooperation projects.
Article IV If a project is co-hosted by several faculty members, the principle investigator of the project is responsible for coordinating the scores of the relevant personnel.
Article V Each academic research project will be awarded 6 points. If the funding of the research exceeds NTD700,000, 1 point will be awarded for every NTD100,000 spent. Two points will be awarded for each project of mentoring students who have been awarded a tertiary program of NSTC.
Article VI Industry-academia cooperation projects are calculated with each NTD100,000 as a scoring unit, and there is no upper limit on the points.
Article VII For each project under the Ministry of Education's Teaching Practice Research Program and various Information and Communication Technology (ICT) course promotion programs (with management fees), 2 points are awarded per project. If the project funding exceeds NTD300,000, an additional 1 point is awarded for every extra NTD 100,000; for amounts less than NTD100,000, points are calculated proportionally to the decimal.
Article VIII Scholarly publications are categorized into academic journal papers and conference papers, and their scoring methods are as follows:Journal papers are calculated according to the ISI’s rank factor of each field, with the rank factor within (1) 10% (inclusive) counting for 12 points, (2) 10%-30% (inclusive) counting for 9 points, (3) 30%-60% counting for 7 points, and (4) 60% or more counting for 5 points. EI papers are counted as 3 points, and papers in journals other than SCI and EI with a review mechanism will be awarded 2 points, with a maximum of 6 points. International academic conference papers will be awarded 2 points each, with general academic conference papers awarded 1 point each, and the total score of conference papers shall not be more than 10 points, of which the maximum number of points for general academic conference papers is 5.
Article IX Journal Papers - When a paper is co-authored by multiple authors (except for on-campus assistants and students), the scores for each tier of authorship are as follows: for two authors, the first author receives 70%, the second author 50%. For three authors, the first author receives 60%, the second author 40%, and the third author 30%. For four authors, the first author receives 60%, the second author 40%, the third author 20%, and the fourth author 20%. For five authors, the first author receives 50%, the second author 40%, the third author 30%, the fourth author and the fifth author 10% each. For six or more authors, the first five authors receive the same score as in the case of a five-author collaboration, and the sixth author and the following authors receive 5%. The corresponding author is the same as the first author. In the case of a paper collaborated with a foreign organization, the score of each author will be weighted according to the above, with a weighting of 1.2 for full professors, 1.3 for associate professors, and 1.5 for assistant professors.
Conference Papers - If a paper is co-authored by more than one author (except for campus assistants and students), the first author receives one-half of the total points, and the other one-half of the total points are divided equally among the other authors, and the corresponding author is the same as the first author.
Article X Other items such as books, patents, or creative works published in the name of the University’s teachers may be included in the scholarly publication category, and their scores will be confirmed by the convener and the supervisors of the College. The principles of scoring are as follows:

Article XII Teachers who have participated in the evaluation of electrical and communication research will be ranked according to this Scoring Criteria and will be given the grades of exceptional and excellent according to the “Implementation Regulations for Teachers’ Annual Performance Award” of the University.
Article XIII This Scoring Criteria shall be approved by the college affairs meeting and submitted to the University Teacher Evaluation and Reward Review Committee for approval before implementation, and the same shall apply to any amendments.
